It doesn’t matter how many countries you visit, you’ll always have a special place in your heart for your own. Like for me, it always has and will be “Mera Bharat Mahan”.

So to describe it, a place, which is famous for its Rajput-era palaces and scenic locations, a place which is on the bucket list of so many tourists, a place where many plan their dream destination weddings, a place that carries a wide history and culture with it and is known by the names the City of Lakes, Venice of the East, and the Kashmir of Rajasthan. You are right; it is none other than, Udaipur, the city of Lakes.
Actually it was a road trip from Mumbai to Delhi .And in this trip ,we planned to cover Dadar and Nagar Haveli,Udaipur, Chittrograh, Ajmer Sharif and Jaipur and I was accompanied by Kumar Saurav, Ayush Kumar Karn and Vivek Mittal and later on Monish joined us in Delhi .
Kumar Saurav ,Vivek Mittal and me started our trip from Mumbai in evening .After a huge traffic and hustle and bustle of city we were in NH After which we ride down to Dadar and Nagar Haveli , that’s around four hours away.We took Mumbai – Vapi – Surat – Bharuch – Vadodara – Godhra – Modasa – Rishabhdev – Udaipur route .
In night we stayed in Dadar & Nagar Haveli in one of our friend home were Ayush had already arrived to accompany us for the trip.Next morning we left from our friend(Rajnish) home at around 5.20 AM.
As we have to cover more than 600 km in a day, we didn’t make too many stops throughout the journey. I think max we made 4 stops including b/f and lunch. Due to this we covered the lost time in the congestion and reached Udaipur around 3.15 PM.

We saved few bucks by booking a reasonably good hostel in the main city. We have booked Gostop Hostel . It has very good reviews on all the sites and it was quite cheap.
In evening we went to Bagore Ki Haveli .It’s located near Lake Pichola and easily accessible while walking. We went to see the folk dance there after hearing about it from several people. It was good value for money and we get to see some interesting styles of Rajasthani dance. There were two people that provide the narrative in hindi and english. Puppet show is a treat to watch. It shows ghoomar , Dance with pots on fire , Dancing on a plate and broken glass with 7 pots on head was awesome.

Later in the evening we went back to our stay Gostop. GoStops has the view of Lake Pichola from the rooftop. It is just a 15-minute walk from the Fateh Sagar street food place and also very close to the famous tourist attractions of the city. GoStops is a very conducive space for creating best friends out of strangers over a night!

The rooftop was my favorite hangout place Common area was fun. Cafe was good enough.Hostel was the best way to meet with other travelers. It was very nicely decorated and awesome colorful.
Next day we went to Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace .It is located at most ideal location and we can see all of Udaipur from this palace. it is at highest point on the top of the hills.

Another place we explore that day were Lake Pichola,Karni Mata temple and Maharana pratap Memorial .In late evening we spend in hostel enjoying ,dancing with our new friend made in hostel and hanging out with them.
Next morning we went on to explore City palace .The 1st words that come ……. Mesmerizing .A true Heritage which has really been preserved. We experience the royalty, beauty, collection ofsome of the RARE things in furniture, glassware and Crockery.Large parts of the palace are now a museum but a lot of the ornaments are still there and the architecture is stunning.
After spending almost 3 hr over there we started our journey toward our next destination Chittorgarh.
